Why Reframed?
In 2023, I went in for a routine vaccine before my daughter was born. I tossed in a quick blood test while I was at it—just being responsible. That test ended up flipping my world upside down.
My triglycerides were off the charts—some of the highest my doctor had ever seen. Add in high cholesterol and extra weight, and suddenly the brisket-loving, smoker-obsessed lifestyle I enjoyed wasn’t just indulgent—it was dangerous. I was lucky to catch it before it turned into something much worse.
My wife told me I needed to "reframe" how I looked at the situation. At the time, I found that advice wildly annoying. But... she was right.
I couldn’t change my genes—but I could change my choices. So I dropped the fat from my diet. I dropped 40 pounds. And most importantly, my next blood test came back clear.
Now, I’m on a mission to reframe low-fat eating—not as a punishment, but as a celebration. Reframed Eats is my way of proving that healthy, low-fat meals can still be bold, creative, and totally craveable. I’m here to share that journey—and those recipes—with you.
